PET Products
- What is PET Recycling: PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a widely recycled plastic, identified by the #1 code, and is 100% recyclable, which helps lower CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared to virgin material. The process involves collecting, sorting, washing, shredding, and melting PET into flakes or pellets (rPET) to create new products like bottles, clothing, and carpets, forming a circular economy.
- Before (Collection & Sorting): The bottles are sorted by type and color to ensure consistent quality.
- During (Processing): Bottles are cleaned and mechanically shredded into flakes. Flakes are sorted into clear, blue, green, yellow, red, and white and others for uniform performance.
- After (Reuse): Recycled PET flakes and preforms are used as recycled material to produce any type of PET products.
- Why It Matters: Recycling PET reduces plastic waste, saves natural resources, and supports a circular economy by turning used bottles into valuable materials.
